The Contact Centre

22 May 2017 ACS

Our innovative contact service aims to ensure that contact for children who are either in local authority care or those whose parents are separated is no longer an emotionally draining experience. Where possible contact for such children should be made enjoyable.

Often children are caught up in arguments between parents who are going through a bitter separation.

This is also the case for children whose parents have to face the local authority social worker who removed them from their parents’ care.

Contact is one of such unbearably anxious moments for child and the parent.

Our contact officers ensure that handover is managed in such a way that the children are not exposed to any further trauma.

Our highly trained staff will not only supervise the contact but will provide an analytical report of each contact based on careful observation.

This will help the court and the local authority social workers to decide whether contact is in the interest of the child

We currently provide these services in Kent and Medway as well as Bexley.

Mental health rehab

16 May 2017 ACS

Community based rehabilitation program for 3 to 6 months for individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. Individuals with dual diagnosis will also be considered.

Based in Medway towns (just 45 minutes from central London)

This unique scheme is based in the local community as a less restrictive option to hospital based schemes delivered from a social care perspective and a genuine step down facility from the hospital setting.

Our aim is to deliver an intensive program individually tailored to meet needs, based on the recovery model of care.

24 hour staff support delivered by experienced STAR workers.

Mother and baby unit

16 May 2017 ACS

We are a specialist Mother and Baby unit, providing mental health care and treatment to women during the third trimester of pregnancy and up to one year after delivery.

We appreciate that having a baby can be a time of great joy but it can also be a time of stress and change for the body and mind, which in almost all parents creates changes in feelings and emotions.

We know that for many new mothers, mothers-to-be and fathers, this can lead to complications like anxiety and depression.

In most cases the difficulties get better with the help and support of family, friends, GPs and health visitors. However some women require a more specialist service, such as we offer.

Transition service

16 May 2017 ACS

The transition to adulthood can be a time of great change and uncertainty. This can cause anxiety for many young people, as well as their parents, families and carers.

It is our aim to support the individuals we work with, in partnership with the the support network, to develop a person centred plan that supports healthy development and promotes a more seamless pathway to independence.

We recognise the importance of listening to the wishes of the individual and advocating for them in line with mental capacity legislation and best interests. Our services include holistic support packages, accommodation, advice and signposting.

We are champions at providing great transition services with independence and empowerment at the core of everything we do, for a more meaningful and positive experience.
